All nice and usefull, but: wtf IS Gimp Paint Studio? Basic list of differences from original project, (bulletpointed would bye nice) at the begining of post would clarify this.

It's just a bunch of brushes for gimp and config files such as window layouts and docked dialogs to optimize it for drawing and painting.
.rar is a proprietary file format. Why in heaven's name would you use that with Open Source software????? I have no way to open such a file.

Umm, you could try using your package manager to find the utility that handles .rar files like I did? It's a wild notion but it might just work...

This is great. I'm an illustration and concept art student who does digital painting in Linux. I refuse to use proprietary software for my art, especially for the CC licensed work I aim to create, so every piece of code that makes GIMP a better drawing and painting tool is of tremendous use to me.
